Released in 1978 by Romper Room, a division of Hasbro, Snoopy’s Doghouse was an interactive toy featuring the popular Peanuts characters, Snoopy and Woodstock.
The box included a wind-up walking Snoopy figure, a wind-up hopping Woodstock figure, Snoopy’s red-and-white doghouse with a black door, a Snoopy flag, ice cream truck, birdbath, and a green base that represented a lawn.
The plastic toy encouraged several play activities. The red roof included a recessed peak that allowed Snoopy and Woodstock to be positioned atop the structure. Woodstock could drink from the birdbath, either character could sit at the back of the ice cream truck and “drive” back and forth along the lawn, and both characters were free to move through the doghouse.
Other of the brand’s Snoopy-themed toys from that era included the Electronic Snoopy Playmate (1980) and the Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine (1981).
