Matchbox Catalogue (1978)

1978 marked the 25th year Matchbox diecast vehicles were available to fans and collectors.

The 64-page catalogue showcased the depth of offerings from the company, starting with the 1-75 models, many of which included Superfast Wheels (introduced in 1969) and Rolamatic features (introduced in 1973).

In addition to the 1-75 series, Matchbox also had new entries in its Speed Kings range (twice the size of the 1-75 models), Battle Kings line (tanks & military vehicles), and Sea Kings (naval ships). The company also continued to use Models of Yesteryear as a way to augment the primary line.

Playsets were also featured, including Mobile Action Command, the futuristic Adventure 2000, and the race car-influenced Speedtrack.
