California-based Entex Industries’ 1979 catalogue showcases the company’s electronic and non-electronic toy offerings.
Founded in 1970, the company initially staked their claim in the industry by releasing Loc Blocs, a line of plastic construction toys that competed directly with LEGO.
The company’s Electronics division also released a series of innovative, handheld, sports and arcade-themed electronic games that allowed gamers to compete against each other.
Lines of remote control cars, electro-mechanical games, and gyrometric toys were also part of the sales mix. The quirky Dan Van, marketed as “the World’s first true word recognition toy,” remains one of our favourite offerings from the company.
