This two-page brochure from Dorack Toy Company of Valley Stream, New York, promoted Bild-a-Brick, a construction set that allowed children to build miniature structures using real bricks and mortar. The system could be used to construct houses, bridges, garages and railroad buildings, with completed models scaled for use with O and O27 gauge model railroads.
The brochure advertised both a $2.49 Junior set and a larger $4.98 set containing 600 bricks. Components included windows, doors, shingle strips, trees, paint and detailed building designs, while the larger set also included floor covering and a mortar applicator. The supplied mortar was water-soluble, allowing builders to dismantle their creations and reuse the bricks. Dorack also sold additional bricks, permanent mortar, landscaping materials and other accessories separately.
