Editor’s Note — The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) franchise began as a comic book series created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The first issue premiered in 1984 and was quickly followed by an animated television series and a line of toys produced by Playmates from 1988 to 1992.
