Ken Carson turns 65 this year, and Mattel is marking the occasion with a new UNO-themed deck that highlights the many fashionable looks of Barbie’s beloved beau.
Introduced in 1961 and named after the son of Barbie creator and Mattel co-founder Ruth Handler, Ken was conceived as a counterpart to Barbie, balancing style, charm, and ambition. Over the decades, he has taken on a wide range of careers, from lifeguard to astronaut, while reflecting changing trends in fashion and identity. From the mod styles of the 1960s to the laid-back Malibu aesthetic of the 1970s and more contemporary looks in recent years, Ken has remained a consistent presence in popular culture.
Unveiled during the 2026 Mattel Creations REVEALED fanstream, the UNO Fandom Ken 65th Anniversary deck reimagines the classic card game UNO with a focus on Ken’s evolving style. The 112-card deck features artwork drawn from different eras of the character’s history, offering a mix of gameplay and collectibility. The set also includes an appearance by Allen, whose profile has grown in recent years following portrayals by Michael Cera, Margot Robbie, and Ryan Gosling in Barbie directed by Greta Gerwig.
This edition introduces a variant rule titled “Ken You Dig It” allowing players to search the discard pile and play a selected card as if it had just been drawn. The deck is packaged in a premium, display box and printed on higher-quality cardstock, positioning it as both a playable game and a collectible item.
Priced at $15.00 USD, the UNO Fandom Ken 65th Anniversary deck is available for pre-order through Mattel Creations, with shipping expected to begin by June 2026.
