Released in 1965 by Ideal, Tigeroo was a roaring tiger made to attach to a child’s bike or trike.
The plastic accessory required no batteries to operate and could be clamped onto any standard cycle’s handlebars. Once installed Tigeroo would open his mouth and emit a roaring sound with a pull down on the tail at the back of the toy. In addition to his moveable mouth, Tigeroo also had glittering “reflecto” eyes and gleaming fangs.
The toy came with a textile tiger tail that could be attached to a bike’s taillight to complete the effect.
