Tiger Joe Tank from DeLuxe (1961)

Marketed by DeLuxe Topper Toys, the Tiger Joe Tank measured a whopping 26-inches in length fired plastic shells, and was guided by a wired remote control. Deluxe encouraged kids to hack the toy tank by dropping flour or talcum powder into the barrel. Adding such a substance made it seem like smoke was being emitted whenever a shell was fired.

Remember the toys and games of years past through vintage advertising – for better and for worse!
