Happy National Marble Colouring Book Day!
Fans of The Wizard of Oz can click their heels together and experience a museum inspired by author L. Frank Baum’s original series of books.
Located in Cocoa Beach, Florida, the Wizard of Oz Museum spans more than 20,000 square feet of space. Founded by Fred Trust, who spent more than 30 years assembling a collection of Oz memorabilia, the museum originally opened in nearby Cape Canaveral before relocating to a larger permanent home in Cocoa Beach in 2026. The expanded facility allows the museum to display a greater portion of its collection while enhancing its immersive exhibits.
Trust’s collection includes more than 2,000 Wizard of Oz artifacts, including original props and costumes, rare first editions of books, toys, dolls, posters, and collectible figurines. A variety of photo opportunities are interspersed throughout the museum’s display galleries.
In addition to viewing Oz-themed artifacts, visitors can experience a series of immersive presentations. Using laser projection, virtual reality, and interactive technologies, the museum transforms its exhibition spaces into scenes inspired by the 1939 film, allowing guests to experience moments such as Dorothy’s tornado journey, the Yellow Brick Road, and Emerald City. The museum also features immersive experiences inspired by the works of Vincent van Gogh and imagery captured by the James Webb Space Telescope.
