Solar Works from Ideal (1983)

This dealer ad from 1983 features Solar Works from Ideal. The set allowed children (ages 8 and up) to “harness the power of the sun” via a set of easy-to-understand experiments, including:

• a reflector system allowed the use of the sun’s rays to discover the principles of solar cooking;
• a distillation apparatus that provided the ability to purify salt water; and
• a set of seed cups that could be used illustrated the concept of hydroponics.
