Richard Scarry’s Busy World, perhaps one of the most beloved and wholesome fictional series in all of children’s literature, is joining Super7’s line of vintage-style ReAction figures!
First published in 1963, the Busy World books have delighted generations of kids with a wide range of stories and colourful characters like Huckle Cat, Lowly Worm, Sergeant Murphy, Mr. Frumble, Mr. Fixit, Bananas Gorilla, and Hilda Hippo. A continued favourite among parents that is still being printed some 60 years later, Busy World branched out into the world of educational video games in 1993 and syndicated animation in 1994.
The first wave of Super7’s newest series of palm-sized pals lifts three classic characters off the printed page and re-imagines them as the sort of charming toys that began populating department stores in the late 1970s. Each measures 3.75-inches tall, includes five points of articulation, and a unique accessory.
Huckle Cat is curious and bright and can often be found discovering new things and going on adventures around Busytown. One of the most well-known characters in the Busy World series, Huckle features a classic look, adorned in lederhosen, and comes packaged with his best pal, Lowly Worm.
The ever-charming Hilda Hippo features her iconic red dress and yellow blouse combo. Sweet and excitable, there’s nothing Hilda loves more than to plan a party for her elementary school classmates. Super7’s all-new figure also includes a Goldbug accessory.
Rounding out the wave is Bananas Gorilla. Dressed in his signature blue jacket and red cap, this precious primate features six wristwatches and comes with a banana bunch accessory.
The Busy World ReAction figures are priced at $20 USD each and packaged on colourful blister cards embellished with art straight from Richard Scarry’s classic children’s books. All three Wave 1 figures are available as a set for $60 USD.
