An advertisement from 1974 for the Rev ‘N Roar from Matchbox. Rev ‘N Roar mimicked the function of a manual transmission, allowing kids to shift from first to fourth gear to get their car on the road. The toy ran on a single D-battery and came complete with a four-speed shifting console, staging ramp, and one Matchbox Superfast car.
