Following the massive cliffhanger that capped off the fourth season of Stranger Things, it’s safe to say fans are eager to get back to Hawkins. However, with the exception of a few behind-the-scenes teasers from the cast and crew of the hit Netflix series, it has become one of the most excruciating build-ups in television history. Fortunately, Mattel makes the wait a little less painful with the release of its new Polly Pocket Collector Stranger Things Compact.
Designed by inventor Chris Wiggs in 1983 using a makeup compact, Polly Pocket is a line of miniaturized dolls and accessories that first began retailing in 1989. Acquired by Mattel in 1998, the toys comprised plastic cases that opened to form a dollhouse or playset, each complete with a number of accessories, moving components, and a selection of micro dolls that were less than an inch tall.
Relaunched more than a few times over the last three decades, Polly Pocket toys have become quite collectible and now encompass everything from cartoons to clothing brands through retailers like Hot Topic and Unique Vintage. A live-action Polly Pocket movie is also in the works, which the mega manufacturer hopes will follow in the footsteps of Greta Gerwig’s hugely successful Barbie flick.

It even comes in a rad bit of packaging designed to look just like a retro tape recorder!
