PlayStation Building Set from LEGO

Company: LEGO | Available: October 2026 | Where to Buy: LEGO | Price: $179.99 USD

The Sony PlayStation debuted in Japan on December 3, 1994.

Developed under the leadership of Sony executive Ken Kutaragi, this revolutionary 32-bit console was powered by a MIPS R3000A processor and helped establish compact discs as the dominant format for console gaming. Backed by low pricing, an aggressive marketing campaign, and critically acclaimed franchises like Gran Turismo, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, and Tomb Raider, the PlayStation proved to be a massive hit, with over 4,000 games released and 962 million units sold before production ceased in March 2006. 32 years and eight unique platforms later, the brand remains a leading marquee in electronic entertainment.

Now, LEGO is bringing Sony’s original gaming system into the world of brick with its all-new PlayStation building set. Composed of 1,911 pieces, this near 1:1-scale premium replica measures over 2.5 inches tall and 10.5 inches wide when fully assembled, and features everything needed to build both a life-size PlayStation console and DualShock controller. Tactile buttons, lights, and an opening disc tray have also been incorporated into the design.

As an added bonus, a pair of miniature dioramas are also included, allowing builders to assemble a racetrack from 1997’s Gran Turismo, complete with tiny cars, and a scene from 1999’s Ape Escape. Both models can then be stored inside the console or pulled out and displayed separately.

Recommended for adults ages 18 and up, the LEGO PlayStation is priced at $179.99 USD and will be made available to LEGO Insiders beginning October 1. A wider retail release will follow on October 4.
