The Petersen Automotive Museum preserves automotive history through exhibits and special events that highlight the cultural impact of two- and four-wheeled transportation through the years.
Founded in 1994 by American philanthropist Robert E. Petersen and his wife Margie, Petersen Automotive Museum exists to preserve and showcase the innovations of the auto industry. With a strong educational mandate, visitors to the Museum are treated to a close-up look at over 300 vehicles that date back as far as 1886. Permanent galleries showcase the Museum’s own extensive collection while special exhibits such as Hollywood Dream Machines offer a look at automotive history from the lens of pop culture.
Petersen Automotive Museum hosts private events, K-12 programs, and teen auto workshops.
