Pee-Wee Herman Talking Doll from Matchbox (1987)

In 1987, Matchbox released the Pee-Wee Herman Talking Doll, part of a line of products based on the Emmy Award winning TV show, Pee-Wee’s Playhouse.

The 17-inch doll wore the character’s trademark gray suit, white shoes, and red bow-tie. Pulling a string at the back of the doll caused it to utter one of Pee-Wee’s classic phrases, including “I know you are, but what am I?”, “Arrggh!”, and “Hey what’s that? Made you look!” The doll’s arms and legs were also poseable.

Matchbox also released a non-talking version of the doll.

Other characters in the show were also featured in the doll line, including Chairrey, Billy Baloney, and Pterri.
