Located in Kyoto, the Nintendo Museum offers an immersive journey through the company’s rich history—from its early beginnings to its modern gaming innovations.

Opened in October 2024, the museum is housed in a two-storey building that once served as the company’s production plant. It is divided into several distinct areas, each dedicated to showcasing a different facets of Nintendo’s storied legacy. The first floor welcomes visitors with interactive exhibits designed to engage and entertain. One notable feature is the collection of oversized controllers, allowing guests to experience classic games in a novel way. The second floor offers a retrospective of Nintendo products such as consoles, controllers, game cartridges, and other products that have firmly established the company’s place in the hearts and minds of gaming fans and pop culture enthusiasts.

In addition to the main exhibits, the museum includes a dedicated workshop where guests can delve into the art of hanafuda, the traditional Japanese playing cards that marked Nintendo’s beginnings in 1889.

A themed café offers Nintendo-inspired refreshments and a gift shop provides a range of exclusive merchandise, from apparel to collectibles, giving fans an opportunity to take a piece of Nintendo’s history home with them.
