Billed as a science museum, the Museum of the Bizarre in Wilmington, North Carolina is home to a selection of oddities that inspire curiosity, wonder, and skepticism.
Located in downtown Wilmington near The Children’s Museum of Wilmington and the Cape Fear Sepentarium, the Museum of the Bizarre brings together a collection of unusual items such as a unicorn horn, two-headed cow, a shrunken head, a mummified dragon, Houdini’s Ouija board, and a plethora of other weird objects from owner Justin Lanasa’s personal collection. Horror movie buffs will be particularly interested in the cast of Linda Blair’s demonic head from The Exorcist and the doll Annabelle from the movie franchise of the same name.
The Museum is family-friendly but some young children might find the more macabre items unsettling. There’s a possessed clown the collection. Don’t make eye contact and you’ll be fine.
