This ad from 1984 promotes the Manglors line of action figures from Ideal. The line was released in two waves. First, in 1984, came Manglord, Manglosaurus, and Manglodactyl. Ideal followed up with three new offerings in 1985: Manglodemon, Manglizard, and Manglodragon. Each figure was made of a synthetic polymer known as Sorbothane, which Ideal marketed as “the strangest stuff on Earth.” Sorbothane made the figures “stick-icky”, and they could be mangled (pun intended) – with limited success – to take on different forms.
