A daily look back at the toys, games, and objects that captured our attention as children and continue to fascinate us today.

Lie Detector from Mattel (1960)

“The exciting new game of scientific crime detection.”

Lie Detector featured 24 cartoon suspects. Two to four amateur detectives attempt to ferret out the guilty party by following clues and using a lie detector to determine if a suspect is telling the truth or perpetuating a bold-faced lie.

The popularity of Lie Detector led Mattel to issue Spy Detector, a second version of the game, in 1963.
