“I’m KITT. Knight Industries Two Thousand.”
Factory Entertainment has teamed up with Jazzinc Dioramas and Knight Rider historian Joe Huth to produce the first sixth-scale replica of KITT, the crime-fighting Pontiac Firebird from the television series Knight Rider.
Created by Glen A. Larson, Knight Rider premiered on September 26, 1982. Starring David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight, the series followed the former police detective as he fought crime alongside KITT, a technologically advanced Pontiac Trans Am equipped with advanced electronics, surveillance tools, and artificial intelligence. The series ran for four seasons and 90 episodes and co-starred Edward Mulhare, Patricia McPherson, Rebecca Holden, Peter Parros, and William Daniels. Its popularity later led to television movies, a short-lived spinoff series, and a 2008 reboot in which KITT was reimagined as a Shelby Mustang.
Available in three different editions, Factory Entertainment’s fully assembled model measures 32 inches long and was developed using 3D scans of the original screen-used vehicle. Details from production designer Michael Scheffe’s custom front nose to the interior trim and cockpit layout have been recreated to match the television car as closely as possible.
Lighting and electronic features include functional pop-up headlights, triple fog lights hidden behind the grille, animated scanner lighting with its signature sweeping effect, dashboard illumination, functioning cockpit electronics, KITT voice samples and sound effects, a remote control, and a universal power supply.
Additional details include the tow bar and skid plate, the full interior dashboard configuration seen on screen, accurate seating and trim details, underbody mechanical components, and the correct steering yoke design rather than the stock steering wheel.
In addition to the Ultimate DX Limited Edition model, two Signature editions are available, each limited to 500 pieces and signed by either David Hasselhoff or William Daniels.
The KITT – Knight Rider 1/6 Scale Vehicle is now available for pre-order through Jazzinc Dioramas and is scheduled to begin shipping in October 2027. The Ultimate DX Limited Edition is priced at $1,599.00 USD, while both Signature editions are listed at $1,699.00 USD. Payment plans are also available.
