A daily look back at the toys, games, and objects that captured our attention as children and continue to fascinate us today.

The Karate Kid from Remco (1986)

Remco’s The Karate Kid toy line was the official, licensed toy line for the movie franchise of the same name. Two series of action figures of stars from the films were released. Daniel San, Mr. Miyagi, Kreese, that blond-haired bully Johnny, Sato, and Chozen each came with karate-related accessories and was capable of “Tri-Action” – that’s marketing speak for the ability to chop, twist, and kick.

The line also included a series of playsets, including the Attack Alley & Training Center, Competition Center, and Sato’s Cannery where the action figures could punch, break things, and kick to their heart’s content.
