September was the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. and Nintendo marked the occasion with a series of games, products, and in-game events. Jakks Pacific has also jumped on the bandwagon with the release of the It’s-a me, Mario action figure.
The 12-inch tall doll articulates at 15 points and is adorned in the character’s trademark blue overalls and red cap. With two AA batteries, the toy can be powered up and emit over 30 iconic phrases and sound effects from the games. Trigger points on Mario’s hands, feet, and hat activate the sounds, and posing him in different ways unlocks recognizable musical snippets from the Super Mario games.
It’s a Me, Mario is available from several online and brick-and-mortar retailers, including Amazon, GameStop, Target, and Walmart, at the cost of $49.99 USD.
