Herbert Art Gallery & Museum in Cardiff, Wales offers visitors a place to explore social and natural history, including objects of play.
The Herbert preserves the history of the region with collections of visual arts, archaeology, industrial history, and culture. Childhood objects are among the approximately 320,000 objects, including examples of dolls and accessories dating back to the 1800s, marbles, spinning tops, figures, and other playthings.
Collections are available to view in person and online. The facility also partners with national museums to bring in temporary exhibits and hosts special family-friendly workshops and events.
