Go Play Outside! Photography Exhibition

For the past 15 years, the McCord Museum in Montreal, Quebec, has installed an outdoor photo exhibition in the heart of the city, on McGill College Avenue. This year’s exhibit, entitled Go Play Outside!, depicts children’s favourite outdoor pastimes of the past 120 years.

While the exhibition’s nostalgic scenes of stickball, street hockey, biking, and more are universally iconic, each of the 20 large-format photographs was snapped on the streets and parks of Montreal from the 1870s to the 1990s. A selection of photos from William Notman, a prominent 19th century photographer in the city, is also included.

Go Play Outside! runs through November 8, 2020.
