“Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! Step right up and be a winner!”

Ohio Art’s Carnival Shooting Gallery (#575-K) offered a compact, mechanical version of a midway-style shooting game, complete with moving ducks and rotating rabbits. Released in the 1960s, the lithographed metal gallery featured two styles of moving targets: ducks that travelled in a straight line and rabbits that rotated on a circular track.

A wind-up motor powered the motion, allowing the set to operate without batteries. It came with a lightweight target gun and four rubber-tipped darts.

COLLECTOR CONSIDERATIONS

Collectors should look for strong, clean lithography, intact metalwork, and a smooth, reliable spring motor. A complete set should include the target gun and all four suction-tip darts; replacements are common and reduce authenticity. Rust, dents, or sluggish target movement lower desirability, while the original box, especially with inserts, adds significantly to completeness and value.
