“For toys so strong, they can ride ‘em.”
Released in 1980, Ideal’s Bolt N’ Play Construction Set allowed kids ages 2 to 6 to assemble super-sized objects that they could ride or sit on to play.
The 81-piece set included a combination of chunky pieces, assorted nuts and bolts, a collection of wheels and axles, and the requisite tools to tighten the pieces together. Two large, pre-built cubes providing a solid yet light center to build on. Ideal also made the Bolt N’ Play Construction Set colourful, with various pieces in yellow, red, blue, and white.
An instruction sheet provided a guide to building various models, including an airplane, kiddy car, wagon, wheelbarrow, and table and chair.
