2016 National Toy Hall of Fame Inductees

Dungeons & Dragons. Fisher-Price Little People. Swing. These are the newly-minted 2016 inductees to the National Toy Hall of Fame at The Strong Museum in Rochester, NY.

Established in 1998, the National Toy Hall of Fame serves to recognize innovative toys that foster creativity and have cemented themselves in the hearts and minds of the public. Each year, nominated toys go through a rigorous review process to select the final inductees.

Other nominees this year included bubble wrap, Care Bears, Clue, coloring book, pinball, Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, Transformers, and Uno.

This year’s inductees join other classic toys such as the Easy-Bake Oven, Barbie, Hot Wheels, and Star Wars action figures.

Is one of your favorite childhood toys missing from the National Toy Hall of Fame? You can advocate for your pick by submitting the nomination form on the National Toy Hall of Fame website.
