Editor’s Note: Released in 1977, Star Team was Ideal Toy Company’s response to the booming science fiction craze inspired by the Star Wars film and Kenner Products’ highly coveted action figures. Star Team centred on the robots Zem-21 and Zeroid, along with the villain Knight of Darkness. Unlike Star Wars, Star Team was not preceded by a successful film. Ideal worked with Marvel Comics to produce a promotional comic book that helped generate interest in the toy line and introduce the Star Team story.
