Vintage Game Demonstration: Touché from Gabriel (1977)

Editor’s Note: Released by Gabriel in 1977, Touché was a strategy game with a hidden twist. Magnets beneath the game board could disrupt a player’s plans to align four pawns in a row. Each pawn contained a two sided magnet, red on one side and white on the other. While the objective was straightforward, to line up four matching pawns, the board’s concealed magnets could flip a piece to the opponent’s colour without warning and instantly alter the outcome. Designed for two players ages eight and up, Touché combined deliberate play with unpredictable interference.
