Editor’s Note: The Yahtzee game was patented by Edwin S. Lowe in 1956 and sold by E.S. Lowe Company until 1973. The dice game is played with five standard six-sided dice. The goal of the game is to score points by rolling specific combinations of numbers. The company was purchased by Milton Bradley, and Yahtzee continued to be published by its new owner. Milton Bradley produced a number of variants to the original version of the game, including Triple Yahtzee, Travel Yahtzee, Showdown Yahtzee, and Electronic Hand-Held Yahtzee. Hasbro purchased Milton Bradley in 1984 and continues to publish the game and variants.
