Debuting in the UK on September 30, 1965, the Thunderbirds British science fiction series was created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson. Distributed by ITC Entertainment, it followed the daring exploits of International Rescue, a secretive organization operating a fleet of cutting-edge vehicles from their secret island base in the Pacific Ocean. Known for its groundbreaking use of supermarionation, Thunderbirds is widely regarded as the Anderson’s most iconic creation, running for 32 thrilling episodes and captivating audiences in 66 countries around the world.

To mark the brand’s 60th anniversary, model manufacturer Corgi has partnered with Anderson Entertainment to release a trio of limited-edition box sets featuring stunningly accurate models of the beloved Thunderbirds machines. Enhanced with improved tooling and detail, these collectibles are said to represent some of the most faithful recreations of the iconic vehicles to date.

Leading the charge is Thunderbird 1, the rocket-powered craft famous for its thrilling take-offs. Featuring upgraded decals and a sleek finish, it’s paired with Thunderbird 3, the interplanetary rescue rocket. This updated model boasts a larger nosecone and is designed to dock seamlessly with Corgi’s upcoming Thunderbird 5 model.

Next is the mighty Thunderbird 2, the backbone of the rescue fleet. Sporting a matte-green exterior, spring-loaded legs, and a detachable pod, it’s paired with Thunderbird 4, the vibrant yellow submersible. Together, they embody the heart of International Rescue’s mission to deliver aid wherever needed.

Completing the trio is the FAB 1, Lady Penelope’s six-wheeled Rolls Royce. Painted in pink and featuring a bulletproof bubble canopy, angular hood, and minifigures of Lady Penelope and her faithful chauffeur Parker, this luxurious vehicle is as stylish as it is functional.
