The Rocketeer: Fate of the Future from Funko Games is a new board game based on the comic book superhero and his adventures in 1930s Los Angeles.
The Rocketeer made his comic book debut in 1982 and was featured in the theatrical release, The Rocketeer, in 1991. Funko Games board game interpretation of the tale borrows from the period-film’s art deco production design.
Created for ages 12 and older, the two-player strategy game invites players to inhabit the roles of either hero or villain. The goal is to possess the blueprints for an innovative rocket-powered jet pack and protect the technology from misuse (if you’re a hero) or use the plans for nefarious gains (if you’re a villain).
The Rocketeer: Fate of the Future board game is available exclusively at Gen Con 2021 from September 16 – 19. It will be available after the tabletop gaming convention at various retailers. The film adaptation is now streaming on Disney+ for those who want to revisit (or discover) The Rocketeer.
