The Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment – Oakland, California

The Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment (The MADE) “is the only all-playable video game museum in the world.” This non-profit organization focuses on preserving objects and educating the public about the history and cultural significance of video games and related topics.

Hoping to inspire future video game designers and promote video games as a legitimate form of artistic expression, The MADE offers a space for people to discover video-game play and learn more about many aspects of the industry. There are plenty of reasons to visit The MADE. Along with an inventory of 11,000 playable video games, it features a roster of events each month, including free programming classes for kids and cosplay comedy nights.

The Museum accepts monetary donations along with donations of games, hardware, and other game-related objects of interest. Individuals can also volunteer their time and expertise by assisting The MADE with their Wiki.
