The Hallmark Collection at The Henry Ford – Dearborn, Michigan

It’s Christmas year-round at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn, Michigan, thanks to its permanent exhibit, Miniature Moments: A Journey Through Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments.

Opened to the public in November 2022, the exhibit features nearly 7,000 Hallmark ornaments produced between 1973 and 2009. Visitors will be able to trace the evolution of Hallmark’s product line from its start as sets of glass balls and yarn figures to more intricate designs incorporating sound, light, and motion.

The collection was originally curated by Norm and Dorothy Snyder, owners of The Party Shop, a Hallmark store in Warsaw, Indiana. Upon their retirement, The Henry Ford acquired the Snyders’ extensive collection. Today, it is displayed in floor-to-ceiling glass cases, arranged chronologically and by pop culture themes, such as Star Trek, Harry Potter, Peanuts, Pixar, and Disney.

Access to Miniature Moments is included with admission to the Museum and is free for members.
