Yabba-Dabba-Doo!
On September 30, 1960, audiences were introduced to The Flintstones. Featuring the voice talents of Alan Reed, Jean Vander Pyl, Mel Blanc, and Bea Benaderet, the long-running sitcom from Hanna-Barbera was set in the fictional town of Bedrock. The series followed Fred and Wilma Flintstone, along with their neighbours and close friends Barney and Betty Rubble, as they navigated the everyday ups and downs of “modern” Stone Age life. Despite mixed critical reviews at launch, the show quickly became a hit and went on to rank among the most successful animated properties of all time. Its characters were soon licensed across a wide range of products, from toys and games to chewable vitamins and breakfast cereals.
Now, fans can bring a bit of nostalgia back to their shelves with the newly announced Fruity Pebbles Fred Flintstone and Cocoa Pebbles Barney Rubble cereal mascot figures from Jada Toys. Joining earlier releases such as Chester Cheetah and Tony the Tiger, these highly detailed 1:12-scale figures capture Bedrock’s best friends as they appeared during their long-running partnership with Post Consumer Brands.
Fred is dressed in his signature spotted tunic and sports a wide, cheerful grin. He features multiple points of articulation and includes breakfast-themed accessories such as a swappable head, interchangeable hands, a spoon, and both a cereal box and bowl of Fruity Pebbles. Barney, styled after his Cocoa Pebbles appearance, also features multiple points of articulation and comes with an alternate head, interchangeable hands, a spoon, and a matching cereal box and bowl. Each figure is packaged in a collector-friendly window box designed to resemble its respective cereal packaging.
Available for pre-order now, Fred and Barney are priced at $29.99 USD each and are scheduled to begin shipping in June.
