The Cartoon Museum – London, England

Located in the Fitzrovia district of central London, The Cartoon Museum focuses on the history and development of British cartoons, caricatures, comics, and animation from the 18th century to present day.

The museum opened in 2006, closed briefly in late 2018, and re-opened in its new location in July 2019. A main exhibition gallery features a rotating display of exhibits that pull material from the museum’s collection of more than 9,000 books, comics, graphic novels, and original art.

In addition to providing guests with a historical look at British satire and creativity, The Cartoon Museum also offers a lecture series, courses in the field of cartoons, and other events geared to children. A shop with a variety of cartoon-related merchandise rounds out the experience.
