Stuck in the ’80s

The Stuck in the ’80s podcast – hosted and produced by Tampa Bay Times’ Steve Spears – has been on the air longer than the decade it celebrates lasted! Each episode reminds listeners of memorable pop culture moments from music, television, movies, and fashion in that decade.

Spears welcomes regular guest hosts to pontificate about such important topics as why John Ritter wasn’t in more ’80s movies, the greatest mom of ’80s television, and the best album of 1987. The conversations are quick and clever, but the trivia segments amplify the fun. If you think you know ’80s pop-culture trivia, you may find yourself stumped – often.

Since its premiere in 2005, Stuck in the ’80s has built such an enthusiastic following that it spawned The ’80s Cruise, a cruise-ship journey that celebrates everything ’80s.

Gateway episodes include 181: Guilty Pleasures; 398: Best ’80s Movie Villain; and, 419: Favorite Teachers in the ’80s.
