To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Lucasfilm, Random House imprint, Del Ray, is re-releasing four titles from the Star Wars Expanded Universe collection. While novels in the Expanded Universe are no longer considered official Star Wars canon, they remain popular with the franchise’s fervent fan base.
The four re-released titles set to drop in Fall 2021 are: Dark Force Rising by Timothy Zahn, The Last Command by Timothy Zahn, Darth Bane: The Rule of Two by Drew Karpyshyn, and Rogue Squadron by Michael A. Stackpole. To promote the re-release, Del Ray has adorned each title with new cover art.
This set is Del Ray’s second round of releases in its Essential Legends Collection catalogue. Last June 15, the publisher launched the collection with three titles: Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn, Darth Bane: Path of Destruction by Drew Karpyshyn, and Shatterpoint by Matthew Stover. Del Ray has also announced it plans to release another set of books in Spring 2022.
Books in the line run $16.00 USD per title.
