Since its release in 1978 by Taito, Space Invaders has racked up sales of over 500 million dollars in and is often referenced as one of the first blockbuster video games.
As an homage to the space-based shoot ’em up, Paladone Products has released a retro set of playing cards. The officially licensed poker-sized deck includes 52 cards, plus two jokers. Each suit is represented by one of the pixelated alien enemies from the video game. An arcade-style storage tin is provided to store the cards when they are not being used.
The Space Invaders Playing Cards set is available from a variety of online retailers and checks in at a price of $7.99 USD.
