As part of its ongoing 25th-anniversary celebration, the Pokémon Company has released two new extended play (EP) albums. Both EPs pay homage to the original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue video games and reflect the company’s longstanding tradition of dual releases for the core Pokémon video game series.
Pokémon 25: The Red EP features three new songs from recording artists, Vince Staples, Cyn, and ZHU. A fourth song, Take it Home, by Mabel, released last month.
Pokémon 25: The Blue EP follows later this month. It will feature remixes of The Red EP songs by ZHU.
The two new EPs are musical precursors of things to come. Later this year, the Pokémon Company will offer a musical compilation album called P25 Music. The album and campaign will incorporate songs from The Red EP and additional material from new and emerging artists.
