Workman Publishing’s Paint by Sticker series is a great application of “low-poly art,” a computer animation technique that renders 3D images out of geometric polygon shapes. Each book in the series includes a set of black-and-white illustrations printed on card stock. The illustrations are divided into numbered spaces, each corresponding to a coloured sticker.
By peeling and placing the stickers in their special spot on a page, creators can “colour in” the images in a style that’s similar to paint-by-number. Each page is perforated, making it simple to remove and display completed images.
The company offers options for adults and kids. Books for adults include: Music Icons, Birds, Travel, Masterpieces, and Cats. Children ages 5 and up will enjoy the Paint by Sticker Kids series, which features larger, more manageable sticker sizes. Kids’ themes include: Beautiful Bugs, Under the Sea, and Zoo Animals.
The Paint by Sticker series is available through a variety of online vendors. Books start at $9.99 up to $14.99 USD.
