Novelty Automation – London, England

Part fun-house, part arcade, Novelty Automation offers a cheeky look at life and play through a collection of “satirical home-made machines”.

Located in the Holborn area of London, Novelty Automation’s machines take inspiration from everyday life–marriage, divorce, travel, work, school, and medical ailments. Opened in 2015 by writer, engineer, and artist Tim Hunkin, Novelty Automation features his handcrafted automata. The relatively small space is packed with machines available for play. Visitors can try Divorce, Autofrisk, Test Your Nerve, Airbedbug, The Fulfilment Centre, and other oddly delightful creations. These one-of-a-kind machines make for highly amusing play for children and adults alike.

Holborn also hosts a variety of shops and restaurants, making it a worthy destination when visiting London.
