Nintendo Light Up The World NES Controller Lamp from Merchoid

It has been over 34 years since the Super Mario Brothers video game made a splash on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) video game console. With the longevity of the gaming series in mind, UK-based retailer Merchoid is providing a nostalgic throwback for fans of the Italian plumber and his damsel-in-distress, Princess Peach.

The officially-licensed Light Up The World NES Controller Lamp is adorned with a lampshade featuring World 1-1, the first level from the original Super Mario game. A built-in USB port is used to power a LED light bulb. A replica NES controller is attached to the lamp’s coiled wire base and acts as a fully functional switch. The controller’s face buttons are used to turn the light on and off while the D-pad is used to toggle between three brightness levels.

Merchoid is currently accepting pre-orders for the NES Controller Lamp at the cost of $51.99 USD. The company expects to ship the product to customers in June 2019.
