Fans of the iconic Mighty Morphin Power Rangers had two reasons to celebrate this week.
Hasbro purchased the iconic brand from Saban Properties for $522 million, opening up a whole range of new licensing and entertainment options. Media company Shout! Factory also announced a new, commemorative DVD set that spans the live-action television and movie series’ 25-year history.
The 20-disc exclusive SteelBook edition features the complete series of 155 original episodes of the show that ran for three seasons. The 10-episode miniseries Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers as well as a Blu-ray version of the 1995 film Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie are also part of the mix. A set of two bonus DVDs chock full of interviews with members of the cast and crew, promos, and original fan club videos round out the collection.
The 25th Anniversary Limited SteelBook Edition is available for pre-order now on the company’s website at a price of $159.99 USD, with a planned delivery date of July 2018. Anyone pre-purchasing the set will also receive a limited-edition lithograph featuring artwork by UK-based artist Paul Shipper.
