Manx: A Catalogue of Online Computer Manuals

Manx is an online archive dedicated to preserving and providing access to vintage documentation, software, and technical manuals related to retro computing systems. Its catalogue primarily covers manufacturers of minicomputers and mainframes, along with peripheral devices such as terminals, printers, and storage systems.

Created as an open-source project to support hobbyists, collectors, and researchers, the site includes documentation for companies such as DEC, IBM, HP, Sun, Apple, Tektronix, Xerox, and many others. The site’s search engine currently indexes part numbers, titles, and keywords, with future plans to support full-text and table-of-contents search as these become available.

Registered users can add new publications and document copies using a Wizard that automatically extracts metadata from the document URL. An RSS feed is also available to alert users when new materials are added to the repository.
