Located in the small town of Osby, Sweden, Lekoseum is a toy museum showcasing toy and play development across the country.
The museum first opened in 1984 in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of BRIO AB, the famous Swedish toy maker best known for its wooden toys that was based in Osby at the time. The museum’s connection with BRIO is reflected in its large collection of the company’s toys, sketches, photography, and other official artifacts.
Other exhibitions in Lekosum include spaces devoted to brands such as Alga, Barbie, Märklin trains, and Steiff stuffed animals. The museum’s game car provides visitors with the opportunity to try classic videogames from Sega. As an added bonus, the museum also features a family-friendly, year-round Santa’s Workshop.
In addition to exhibitions, the museum provides a small café, toy shop, and a number of play areas.
