Back in 2007, LEGO launched the Modular Buildings line. Aimed at adults, it successfully took fans’ love of 1980s castle modularity and applied it to an entirely new expandable-house concept.
The line quickly became one of the hottest-selling assortments among the adult fans of LEGO (also known as AFOLs) and the building block giant is kicking off 2023 with a new addition in the form of the Jazz Club. The swingin’ joint headlines plenty of intricate details and mellow melodies! The 2,899 piece set joins other popular models like the Detective’s Office and the Downtown Diner with a distinctive design that is easily combined with other sets in the Modular Buildings line.
Measuring 12 inches high and 10 inches wide once fully assembled, the beautifully engineered entertainment venue features design cues inspired by classic architecture and includes everything from a backstage dressing room to a brand-new building technique in the form of a 45-degree doorway. With a marquee promising “live music all night”, this jamming joint not only serves as a hot spot for some of the best tunes in town but also features a rooftop garden bursting with veggies and a sidewalk café for minifigures looking to get their hands on a post-show snack.
Speaking of minifigures, the Jazz Club features a total of eight colourful characters that include a chef, bassist, drummer, singer, and fans eager for some easy listening. A detailed digital instruction booklet and access to the LEGO Builder app are also included in an effort to make each step of the construction process as fun and engaging as possible.
Suitable for builders 18 years of age and older, the LEGO Jazz Club officially went up for pre-order over the holidays and is now available in-store and online for $229.99 USD.
Hmm, perhaps it’s time to pull those Herbie Hancock records back off the shelf.
