LEGO Art

Thanks to a new series of pop culture-influenced Art sets from the LEGO Group, AFOLs have another option to add brick-based works of art to their homes or offices.

LEGO Art is launching with four different art, music, and film-inspired kits: 31197 Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe, 31198 The Beatles, 31199 Marvel Studios Iron Man, 31200 Star Wars Sith. Each set contains a blank canvas consisting of nine 16 x 16 stud mosaic plates that are connected, resulting in a final portrait that is approximately 15-inches x 15-inches in size.

The pieces in each canvas set are pre-sorted by colour and include a “colour by numbers” grid to assist with the build of each mosaic plate. All sets come with unique 2×4 signature tiles, collector’s style booklets, and additional black pieces that can be used to build a frame around the final portrait.

All four sets are capable of being reassembled into alternate versions, a process facilitated via a new brick separator tool. Multiple instances of two of the sets (Iron Man & Star Wars) can also be combined to create larger portraits.

The Lego Art canvas sets are recommended for builders 18 years of age and older. They check in at a price of $119.99 USD and will be available in September 2020.
