Houston Toy Museum invites visitors to rediscover the classic toys of childhood and the companies that made them.
Opened in October 2022, the museum is owned and operated by Matt and Sara Broussard. Guests at the museum located in Houston Heights take an enlightening tour through decades of toys, games, and childhood objects. The museum integrates its collection of toys with profiles of influential people and companies in the industry for a retrospective of popular culture and toy history.
In a conversation with Toy Tales, Matt Broussard shared: “Most people put their toys away at some point and never think of them again until maybe they have a kid of their own and remember the toys they had. The good thing about the museum is that it’s going to bridge that gap between all the generations and really show them that they can relate to each other through toys. We all had a beloved toy.”
The museum offers group visits by special arrangement and hosts youth-friendly workshops. Admission fees and memberships financially support the privately-funded museum. Donations are also accepted through the website.
